Job Title:  Maintenance/ Facilities Manager     Department:  Pigment Operations

Location:  Amelia OH                                            Reports to:  Mgr Operations                                                        

Position Responsibilities::

  • Define and lead site Capital Projects to maintain plant infrastructural needs to support mfg. and facility operations in all three (3) buildings on the Amelia site.  Manage the financial aspects of capital projects with budget adherence for labor and materials.  Manage schedule of completion for all capital projects with regular updates on milestone completions.
  • Manage and Supervise site Maintenance Technicians providing day to day directives for repairs and preventative maintenance to support production.  Provide coaching and mentoring to existing Maintenance Technician team holding each Technician accountable for assigned responsibilities.  Develop training and development goals with Maintenance Technician team and support growth in skills and cross training for broader coverage across the plants.  Establish certification system for proof of proficiency of learnings as required by ISO.
  • Create and maintain a functional, electronic SAP or other electronic work order system to allow for documented records of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. 
  • Create and use SAP parts ordering system that will automatically track inventory levels for spare parts and alert Maintenance that we need to place orders for safety stock replenishment.  Create critical parts list for both Annex and Main Plant equipment and maintain inventory levels of critical parts in SAP.  Interact with Ariba for establishment of vendor PO’s / purchases.
  • Manage relationships with service contractors and vendors to make sure we have access to services and parts and equipment supplies.  Schedule certain services for monthly, quarterly, annual needs to support site.
  • Manage Wastewater Treatment system interacting with all local and state authorities to stay in compliance with regulations.  Issue reports of compliance and adhere to any licensing requirements if necessary.
  • Work daily with Functional leaders of other areas of the site to support all operational needs.  i.e., Shipping and Receiving, QC Labs, Tech Services, and Process Engineering.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Chemical plant Maintenance and Facilities experience.  Preference with Pigments and Dispersions facility.
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in managing chemical facilities.  Preference is Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Supervisory role working with Maintenance personnel in a hi volume manufacturing facility.
  • Analytical skills in identifying equipment and systems problems and root cause determination to resolve those problems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in procurement of process equipment and instruments to support manufacturing.
  • Work collectively with site EHS coordinator to ensure site is compliant with all aspects of OHSA and EPA required standards.  Work with township, County and State inspectors to meet all required safety standards.
