Job Title: Plant Manager
Reports to: Operations Manager
Date: June, 2026
Responsible for manufacturing, maintenance of production equipment, budgeting of all plant and production related items, production records and miscellaneous plant management duties as required. Responsible to role model Leadership on site in areas of people leadership, good judgment in taking risk toward success of the site, team effectiveness, and delivering results in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all plant operations, including Production Departments and production scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
- Lead production planning and execution to achieve operational goals established by Performance Pigments leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and operational standards.
- Determine hourly staffing requirements to meet production targets and communicate workforce needs to the Operations Manager.
- Prepare, maintain, and report production records, metrics, and operational status updates.
- Develop and coach supervisory staff through training, performance management, and regular leadership meetings; ensure compliance with plant procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with the Controller to develop accurate labor and manufacturing cost estimates for product costing and budget planning.
- Conduct labor and equipment utilization studies and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Coordinate production and maintenance activities, including equipment downtime, repairs, replacements, and prioritization of maintenance work.
- Manage inventories of finished goods, raw materials, and operating supplies to support production requirements.
- Develop, document, maintain, and ensure adherence to plant production and maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Promote a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through effective communication, accountability, and housekeeping practices.
- Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required/Preferred qualifications:
Education:
- Preferred :Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations, including leadership roles in plant management, employee relations, and production supervision.
- Proven track record of leading Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable operational and financial results.
- Experience in automated manufacturing environments and working knowledge of ISO quality management systems.
- Strong business acumen, including financial analysis, budgeting, P&L accountability, and KPI-driven performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams through effective coaching, communication, and employee engagement.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven ability in conflict resolution, coaching, and team development.
- Strong analytical skills and experience establishing and maintaining performance‑based metrics.
- Customer‑focused mindset with experience investigating and resolving production/customer issues.
Physical and work environment:
- Onsite role with regular presence on the plant floor; ability to walk/stand for extended periods and access all areas of a manufacturing facility.
- Occasional travel to regional offices, customers, or corporate meetings as required.
