JOB TITLE:   QC Lab Technician IV                                 Department: Quality Control

Location:     Amelia                                                          Reports to: QC Supervisor

Job Description:

The Quality Control Lab Technicians provide immediate support for Manufacturing.  Depending on work area, they may perform raw material, work-in-process, or finished goods inspection and testing.  Technicians are required to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Required Duties:

• Performs tests as specified in the Quality Control Manuals and Quality Control Records.
• Prioritizes work based on information supplied by Quality Control Manager, Process Chemists and / or Production Supervisors.
• Complies with all safety rules, regulations and practices.
• Creates and ensures that records of work are correct, neat, properly labeled, filed and complete.
• Meets both regular and overtime commitments on a timely basis.
• Completes special projects at the request of managers or supervisors.
• Trains new employees in the day to day duties as requested.
• Works in a professional manner with peers both in the lab and in the manufacturing process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

Minimum High School or Equivalent

Preferred Education:

2 or 4 year Degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Chemistry

Required Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in a testing, research or development laboratory and experience with Digital or UVD testing is preferred.
• Good technical communication and organizational skills.
• Some analytical experience (five-place balance, Karl Fischer, laboratory glassware, UV-vis, particle size analysis).
• ISO calibration experience
• Microsoft programs (Word, Excel).  Graphing and analysis skills.
• Basic working knowledge of SAP quality functions
