QC LAB TECH III

Reports to Quality Mgr
Position Description
The Quality Control Lab Technician III provides immediate support to Manufacturing through raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inspection and testing. This position performs testing independently with minimal supervision and serves as a resource to other technicians by assisting with training, troubleshooting, and procedural guidance. The Technician III role contributes to process improvement efforts, supports quality initiatives, and assists in interpreting and communicating test results to support manufacturing operations.
Essential Job Functions
- · Perform tests as specified in the Quality Control Manual and Quality Control Records.
- · Prioritize work based on information supplied by Quality Control leadership and Production Supervisors.
- · Work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily workload and laboratory priorities.
- · Assist with training and onboarding technicians on test methods, equipment operation, laboratory procedures, and database usage.
- · Assist in training new employees in day-to-day laboratory responsibilities.
- · Provide guidance and support to less-experienced technicians as needed.
- · Adhere to and promote all safety rules, regulations, practices, and laboratory safety standards.
- · Create and maintain accurate, complete, and properly documented quality records.
- · Interpret basic testing data and communicate findings, concerns, and trends to supervisors and manufacturing personnel.
- · Support process improvement initiatives and assist with special projects as assigned.
- · Work professionally and collaboratively with laboratory, production, and cross-functional teams.
- · Meet regular and overtime commitments as required.
- · Contribute to procedural accuracy and continuous improvement within the Quality Control function.
- · Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- · High School Diploma or GED.
- · Good communication skills.
- · Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills.
- · Basic computer skills.
- · Basic laboratory and quality testing skills.
- · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- · Ability to interpret test results and communicate findings effectively.
- · Minimum of two (2) years of laboratory, quality, research and development, manufacturing quality, or related technical experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- · Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- · Industrial laboratory experience.
- · Experience in quality control, testing laboratories, process control, research and development, or manufacturing environments.
- · Experience working with aqueous inks, digital inks, UV dispersions, pigmented dispersions, coatings, or similar products.
- · Experience training or mentoring employees.
- · Demonstrated process improvement and problem-solving skills
