The Distribution Warehouse Manager oversees the performance of our third‑party warehouse provider and manages the flow of materials from our manufacturing facilities to the EMEA warehouse

 and onward to branch locations and select customers. This role ensures operational excellence across warehousing, freight, inventory control, and export logistics, while leading a team of Distribution Requirements Planners (DRPs).

You will collaborate closely with Supply Planning, Operations, Corporate Logistics, and commercial teams to drive service levels, optimize costs, and maintain compliance across all warehouse and logistics activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Warehouse & Vendor Management

  • Lead day-to-day oversight of 3rd‑party warehouse operations.
  • Manage vendor performance, cost controls, contract compliance, and service quality.
  • Drive process improvements, including RACI development and joint Sun/3PL workflow enhancements.
  • Set and track warehouse KPIs, including inventory accuracy, space utilization, damages, and operational efficiency.

 

Inbound, Outbound & Export Logistics 

  • Manage inbound freight from manufacturing facilities to the warehouse.
  • Oversee outbound freight to branch locations and select customer sites.
  • Coordinate export shipments to Sun Chemical locations in North America and Latin America.
  • Support carrier selection and performance evaluation with Corporate Logistics.
  • Ensure dock scheduling, freight quality, and claims management.
  • Track logistics KPIs such as on‑time pickup, on‑time delivery, and damage‑free shipments.

 

Team Leadership & Process Execution 

  • Lead and develop a team of up to eight DRPs, including workload and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and operational standards.
  • Oversee inventory controls, loss recognition, and shipping documentation (including hazardous goods).
  • Collaborate with Supply Planning and Operations to ensure inventory availability and inbound quality.
  • Review non‑standard requests such as expedites or alternate sourcing.
  • Identify and address network inefficiencies (lane frequency, minimum ship quantities, etc.).

 

Scope & Impact

  • Regional oversight across Badalona and Frankfurt Mother Plants, Zaragoza Warehouse, and EU branch locations.
  • Global coordination with Dahej (India) and export lanes to North America and Latin America.
  • First‑line supervisor responsible for hiring, performance evaluation, and coaching.
  • Key contributor to cost optimization across warehouse operations, inbound freight, and outbound freight.
  • Drives operational excellence and service improvements across the EMEA supply chain network.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of warehouse operations and logistics management experience
  • Experience working with 3PLs and logistics providers.
  • Knowledge of SAP (STO execution).
  • Demonstrated success driving improvements within a distribution center environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing 3rd‑party vendors.
  • SAP proficiency.
  • Freight and logistics experience across regional and global networks.
  • Customs compliance knowledge and experience with export documentation.
