THE OPPORTUNITY
Sun Chemical is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Regulatory Advisor to join our regulatory and compliance team. This is a senior-level advisory role, suited to a regulatory professional who can combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial judgement.
The role is primarily remote, with an expectation to attend onsite meetings at least once per quarter to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and key business activities.
In this position, you will act as a trusted regulatory partner to internal and external stakeholders, supporting compliance, managing risk, and influencing business decisions across manufacturing and retail environments.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
As a Senior Regulatory Advisor, you will:
- Provide high-level regulatory and technical advice on legal labelling and food compliance matters.
- Act as a key decision-support partner, helping stakeholders understand regulatory risk and options.
- Interpret and apply complex food legislation to real-world product and labelling scenarios.
- Advise on the impact of regulatory requirements on client policies, strategy, and commercial objectives.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate regulatory and labelling risks across the product lifecycle.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of current and emerging legislation, standards, and best practice.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of regulatory processes and service delivery quality.
- Support both manufacturing and retail-facing activities with practical, compliant solutions.
ABOUT YOU
You are a senior regulatory professional who brings both technical depth and strong advisory capability. You are comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, while engaging effectively with stakeholders during onsite and virtual interactions.
You will have:
- Significant experience in legal labelling and food regulatory compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of food laws and standards (EU, UK, US and/or international).
- Experience working in regulatory affairs within the food industry.
- A strong understanding of regulatory risk management and decision-making processes.
- The ability to interpret legislation and translate it into clear, practical guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to influence decisions at senior levels.
- A degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Nutrition or a related discipline, or a minimum of 10 years’ directly relevant professional experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex regulatory environment
