About The Role:
The Field Marketing Manager (FMM) will be responsible for identifying customer needs and product line gaps, specifying new product development projects, providing high-level technical support and training to the technical and sales teams, and providing training and consultative sales support to the sales, sales management teams, and distributor network.
The individual in this role will travel with salespeople and distributors, developing opportunities for Narrow web, consumables, sheetfed ink, digital, and screen sales. It will also require follow-up to bring the opportunity to trial. This role will organize technical involvement during the trial phase and provide consultation to ensure success. Will work with internal sales as well as helping grow the dealer/distributor network.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Support product management objectives to achieve sales growth targets in all product offerings in the designated market segment through direct and dealer reps.
- Conduct sales and technical training on the value propositions and support of the products for the designated markets and distributors.
- Assist Marketing in the development of technical data sheets, marketing materials, and campaigns etc. in the designated market segment.
- Responsible for Distributor, OEM, and allied vendor relationships in the market segment.
- Shepherd new products into the field and works with product management and R&D to refine and bring products to market.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
The Field Marketing Manager will have daily contact with the product manager, technical directors, sales reps, and sales management. At the customer level, the FMM will interact with corporate purchasing and executive management, sales, technical employees, pressroom supervisors, press operators, technical managers, and operations managers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the printing industry, preferably with actual press running experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Technical Sales or Sales for a pressroom products supplier.
- Ideally a background in Narrow web and sheetfed
- Excellent interpersonal skills. An outgoing, energetic personality that enables the candidate to teach, coach, and motivate the sales personnel to drive growth in the designated market segment.
- Must be able to communicate at the very highest level in Key Accounts and must be able to offer basic technical assistance in the pressroom.
- High-level communication skills both written and verbal.
- High-level analytical skills with an understanding of computing margins, pricing strategies, cost-reduction strategies, and value-added sales strategies.
- High School diploma or advanced degree
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: 60%-70%, primarily in the US. Possibly international travel.
