Inventory Control Production Coordinator
Responsibilities:
The Production Coordinator develops and executes short-term production planning and inventory management, aligning with customer service, supply chain, procurement, product management, and manufacturing. They integrate demand forecasts with production capabilities using MRP techniques to generate production plans. Their role involves optimizing inventory levels, serving as an expert resource, and ensuring high asset utilization and schedule compliance. They manage key demand thresholds, communicate schedule issues, and are responsible for capacity planning, generating daily/weekly schedules, and supporting inventory reconciliations.
Position Duties:
1. Develops and executes short term operational production planning and inventory management program with guidance from supply chain, product management and manufacturing. Includes rough cut capacity planning and finite scheduling for the manufacturing organization.
2. Participates in operations planning meetings as the expert on the production plan/schedule using MRP techniques, capacity, and campaign and sequencing issues. Advises supply chain, QC and Manufacturing on decisions to support the balance of short term supply and demand.
3. Plans/schedules and requisitions raw materials as defined by the production plan and schedule. Defines inventory targets by raw material and manages overall raw material levels to established targets while working with corporate supply chain.
4. Defines and recommends target levels of raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventories to customer service (NACS), manufacturing and supply chain based on MRP parameters and knowledge of the production process (batch sizes, lead times, cycle times, etc.)
5. Monitors and maintain operational raw material and work-in-process inventory levels. Optimize inventory levels to achieve effective customer service in harmonization with inventory analysis and cost management Manages production plan/schedule to achieve targeted finished goods levels.
6. Coordinates packaging requirements and finished good shipping activities between supply chain, Manufacturing and Plant Shipping.
7. Maintains operational inventories by managing inventory days on hand, policing obsolete, dormant and slow-moving stock, and developing feedback reports to be given to the appropriate person for resolution.
8. Serves as primary communication link between customer service (NACS), product management, supply chain, procurement and manufacturing participation in daily production meetings, MRP updates to the production schedule and SAP reports.
9. Serves as expert resource for Manufacturing as it relates to the use of scheduling systems. Continuously improves the planning and scheduling process through problem identification, recommendations and implementation of systems improvements.
10. Tracks and communicates key supply chain issues with raw material and intermediate inventory levels. Leads weekly review process with manufacturing to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
11. Champions cycle count initiatives for the site and performs the necessary inventory corrections to maintain the sites inventory accuracy initiatives as well as develops new procedures and guidelines to continuously improve the initiative.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, with concentration in the following areas: Working knowledge in SAP, Production Scheduling, Material Flow, Distribution and Inventory Control
• Strong MS Office skills with concentration in Excel data import/exporting and Pivot table data analysis
Preferred Experience:
• Understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts and governing principles Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Ink Product line knowledge a plus
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree or vocational degree/equivalent work experience
Shift and hours:
Days: 8am - 430pm M-F
