Sun Chemical is hiring!  We are seeking Production Operators and Maintenance Mechanics to join our team at the Cincinnati location.  Come out for our open interview date on October 30th, 2024 from 9:00am-2:00pm. 

 

Job Title: Production Operator

Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift, training on days

 

Our Production Operator is a key team member who helps manufacture our quality inks and pigment products. As a Production Operator, you will become an expert in multiple areas within the production team ranging from receiving and processing raw materials, to the operation of various equipment to assist with the manufacturing process, to the quality control of our products, and to the customer shipments.  

 

Duties:

  • Material handling equipment - forklifts, pallet trucks and stackers
  • Gather all materials for batch formulations
  • Process equipment – monitor amps and temperature, conductivity checks
  • Read and follow batch operational guide sheets issued through scheduling
  • Make sure all materials going in are weighed correctly per the formulation
  • Unload the batch and take material to the proper storage areas
  • Perform end of day cleanup of department and work areas 3 times a week and as directed by supervision

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to comprehend detailed verbal and written instruction and work with minimal supervision
  • Standing and walking for extended periods as well as the ability to climb stairs
  • Routinely carrying up to 25lbs and frequently handling equipment more than 50lbs
  • Willing to work in extreme temperatures and dusty/dirty environment
  • Forklift certification

 

 

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic  

Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift, training on days

 

Our Maintenance Mechanic Performs routine, emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment, machines, and building facilities.

 

Duties:

  • Repair and service all site equipment, buildings, and furnishings. 
  • Communicate issues with the Maintenance team verbally and through email.
  • Check and repair critical equipment.
  • Check cooling towers, mills, chillers, air compressors, boiler, etc.
  • Preventative Maintenance through inspection, lubrication, filter replacement, cleaning etc. 

 Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 55 lbs. and stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be familiar and thoroughly experienced in all facets of maintenance:
    • Mechanical: Pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), drives (gearbox, belt, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-electric, motor-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies.
    • Electrical: High voltage 460-volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage (120V power and control wiring), AC and DC systems. Computer-controlled systems.
    • Utilities: Piping (water, air, and steam) Boilers - understand Steam condensate system - tracing, coils, traps, and pumps. Air Compressor system - including filters, regulators, dryers, and lubricators. HVAC - air handling, blowers, dust collectors.
    • Vehicles: Lift trucks - electric EE rated, battery, and hydraulics.
