Sun Chemical is seeking a Supply Chain Leader, Color Materials, Americas to oversee endtoend supply chain execution across the region. The position ensures alignment between demand inputs, supply plans, inventory targets, and logistics performance while driving reliable service and operational excellence.

 

As the central execution control point for the Americas, the leader connects supply planning, manufacturing sites, warehouses, and logistics providers to deliver optimized inventory, strong service levels, and consistent performance. The scope includes planning for 15+ manufacturing sites, managing 6+ warehouses, and overseeing $225M+ in inventory across more than 8,000 active SKUs. Close collaboration with global partners is essential.

 

This position plays a critical role in ensuring plans are operationally achievable, performance targets are met, and issues are escalated and resolved quickly to maintain supply chain stability.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead supply planning and S&OP execution across the Americas, ensuring demand and supply alignment and operational feasibility.
  • Review and validate demand forecasts provided by the Demand Planning team to confirm they are accurate and actionable, ensuring a reliable foundation for downstream supply planning activities.
  • Manage a regional team of supply planners and an operational logistics leader, with responsibility for coaching, performance management, and ensuring consistent execution across multiple sites.
  • Own escalation governance for supply chain execution; set priorities, align stakeholders, and drive issues to closure.
  • Set/manage inventory targets by plant; identify gaps and drive corrective actions to meet budget, inventory, and service goals.
  • Own OTIF performance, backlog management, and root‑cause resolution of service failures.
  • Oversee logistics and transportation execution, including warehousing and provider performance, ensuring service and cost targets are met.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Americas supply chain execution and operational logistics team; reinforce accountability and escalation discipline.
  • Drive weekly and monthly execution reviews, integrating real‑time performance into S&OP and KPI management.
  • Ensure systemic issues are identified, escalated appropriately, and resolved through root‑cause elimination.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations (chemical/coatings/manufacturing preferred)
  • Leadership experience managing multi‑site or cross‑functional teams
  • Strong SAP experience (ECC or S/4HANA; MM, WM, PP, SD modules)
  • Demonstrated success in inventory optimization, material flow, and distribution network performance
  • Experience managing 3PL/4PL partners and logistics execution
  • Knowledge of chemical regulatory logistics (dangerous goods, compliance)
  • Proven ability to drive execution, lead teams, and influence stakeholders

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in Supply Chain/Operations)
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP, CIPS, or similar certification
  • Kinaxis experience
  • Demand planning and forecasting experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher)
  • Project management training (PMP, Prince2)
