THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to head the maintenance department at our Gallarta site. This role ensures the availability, performance, and safety of all installations and production machinery while managing a team, you will oversee maintenance strategies, daily operations, continuous improvement, and budget management to maintain a reliable, safe, and efficient plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring effective coordination across shifts and departments.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements (including ATEX and legal obligations).
- Plan, implement, and monitor corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs in coordination with the Iberia Maintenance Manager.
- Manage maintenance for all process equipment, production machinery, and site utilities (HVAC, fire protection, electrical supply, pressurized equipment, etc.).
- Supervise SAP PM & GMAO maintenance plans, KPIs, work orders, and reporting; oversee Ariba purchase orders to suppliers.
- Coordinate closely with Operations to prioritize and execute maintenance activities.
- Support engineering projects, participate in design phases, and contribute to plant improvements and investments.
- Conduct and document legal inspections, root cause analyses, and internal/external audits.
- Optimize spare parts management, including critical and safety stock strategies.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapting to budget constraints and administrative demands.
- Maintain effective communication at all levels—from technicians to operations managers.
THE PROFILE:
- Industrial or Technical Engineer with 5+ years of maintenance experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
- Advanced English (C1) and strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Based in or able to work on-site in Gallarta, with occasional travel availability.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and prioritization abilities.
- Proactive, collaborative, empathetic, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure.
- Skilled in handling multiple tasks, crisis situations, and administrative workloads.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance standards, safety protocols, ATEX regulations, and legal compliance.
- Experience with SAP PM, maintenance reporting, work order management, and spare parts inventory control.
- Familiar with preventive/predictive maintenance, technical standards, instrumentation, utilities, and engineering good practices.
- Ability to perform root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
