As part of the EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) department, you will play a key role in the site's environmental management and in developing a strong safety culture. You will support the EHS Manager, particularly in liaising with authorities, and actively contribute to ensuring the regulatory compliance of our facilities.
Main Responsibilities
1. Environment
• Manage and monitor the site's environmental issues:
o Industrial waste
o Water and wastewater discharges
o Atmospheric emissions
o CO₂ quotas / EU ETS
• Ensure the regulatory and technical compliance of all facilities.
• Manage administrative follow-up and regulatory declarations (internal and external reporting, authorities).
• Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and controls.
• Participate in the site's environmental on-call system.
2. Safety & EHS
• Contribute to the analysis of incidents/accidents and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
• Lead and monitor EHS actions in conjunction with operational teams.
• Actively participate in developing a safety culture within the site.
• Participate in risk analyses.
3. Training & Awareness
• Conduct EHS training sessions for internal teams.
PROFILE
• Education: Engineering degree or equivalent in environmental science, chemistry, EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), or a related technical field.
• Experience:
o Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental science and/or EHS, ideally in the chemical industry.
o Proven experience in an industrial environment is essential.
• Required Skills:
o Solid knowledge of environmental and safety regulations applicable to industrial sites.
o Proficiency in audits, risk analyses, and managing regulatory inspections.
o Ability to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.
o Excellent training facilitation and internal communication skills.
• Languages:
o Fluency in English is essential.
o Proficiency in German is a plus for communication with Swiss authorities and service providers.
