Here at Sun Chemical, we are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant to support our Financial Controller for South Africa. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to further develop their career with an industry leading manufacturer.

The ideal candidate will be based in or around Cape Town, this is a home-based role.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Below is a list of some tasks that you will undertake in your new role, this list is not exhaustive and will include other tasks/responsibilities:

• Undertake monthly balance sheet reconciliation preparation
• Running and preparing reports at month end and ensuring accurate reporting
• Act as the invoice manager for South Africa, ensuring purchase orders are raised and approved appropriately
• Conduct weekly calculations of payments due in different currencies and administration of this in SAP
• Support HR manager with information required for BEE audit
• Preliminary preparation of Annual Statutory Audit and support during the Audit
• Regular communication with accounts processing team as the point of contact

Your skills and experience:

• Previous experience working in Accounts is essential
• Degree in accounting or related discipline
• Knowledge of working with SAP would be an advantage
• Experience of working in accounts payable and knowledge and experience of month end processes and reporting
• Experience in Financial Audits
• Ability to work from home with internet access which will continue to work during load shedding periods
• Ability to work on your own initiative with ambition to develop your career
