THE ROLE

Thanks to our innovative products and great team – we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Technical Product Responsible - OPV to join our Center of Excellence, Waterbased Inks, EMEA team based in Cigli / Izmir. Working as part of a laboratory-based team, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a development team working on a variety of R&D projects supporting Water Based OPV / Dispersion Varnishes. Additionally, they will gain practical laboratory experience combined with opportunities to develop products at bench scale through to supporting trials and manufacture.

• Product Development - Development of new products as well as maintenance of profitable new products to meet business requirements to agreed deadlines and timescales
• Working closely with other technical staff on the formulation and research of new and existing products
• Application of own scientific and analytic knowledge in technical problem-solving situations
• Provide updates of project progress, including regular communication with team leader and product management
• Technical Support - Provides root causes analyzes, gives technical advice, guidance & support maintaining laboratory processes, equipment, and resolution / reporting of customer issues
• Product Compliance – Meets required Production, Quality, EHS & Regulatory policies when maintaining existing products and providing new solutions. Researchers and tests new / alternative raw materials
• Safety Commitment - Ensuring the safety of self and others

YOUR PROFILE

• BSc or Masters in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience working about OPV / Dispersion Varnishes / Coatings in a laboratory or production environment
• Proficient in use of common productivity software applications. (SAP/ERP)
• Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment
• Active team player with a strong “can-do” attitude
• Able to take ownership and responsibility of their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development
• Competent in the use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
• Holding a driver’s license and actively able to drive
• Ability to travel occasionally and stay away overnight
