Sun Chemical is hiring! We are seeking Production Operators, Maintenance Mechanics, and Shipping & Receiving Operators to join our team at the Maumee, OH location. This event will be invite-only, and the date and time will be distributed by our talent acquisition team after completion of this application.
Job Title: Production Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift: (3:00 - 11:30 pm)
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Overview:
In this role, your primary responsibility is to produce high-quality inks via batch tickets for our customers. The Production Operator will be responsible for learning the machines used in production and all the processes. The key to your success is to produce the best quality product, on time, while practicing safety as a top priority.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform all gathering, weighing, and packaging duties for the different equipment throughout. manufacturing, including the computer control system software.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide input to supervision/management.
- Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping throughout the facility and participate in 5S activities.
- Perform all duties in such a manner as to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and in accordance with the Quality Management System guidelines, including maintaining proper documentation in all work areas.
- Assist co-workers and promote a team environment while using effective communication skills.
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead employee, or other member of management.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to repeatedly lift 55 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment
- Experience with batch manufacturing preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Shift: 3rd Shift - 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Training on 1st or 2nd Shift)
Pay: $31.00 per hour
Overview: This job includes making general repairs to plant facilities and production equipment. To ensure the reliability of production equipment by performing preventive maintenance activities and using best practice techniques for repairs.
Essential Job Duties:
- Follows and promotes on-the-job safety expectations. (Eyes, ears, and L.O.T.O.); Comply with all OSHA-required activities for PIT
- Performs routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance; Inspect or test damaged parts and advise supervisor of repairs needed; Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
- Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime; Repair, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance on a wide variety of electronic and pneumatic equipment; Modify equipment as necessary to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability
- Read work orders and specifications for machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
- Assures that proper documentation is filled out and spare parts are accurately maintained and identified to provide rapid response to problems.
- Maintain proper housekeeping, work area, equipment, and tools
Required Education & Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED; Working knowledge of mechanics; CMRT Certification required and or provable experience to be considered
- IST Assessment available in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, SAP CMMS or equivalent CMMS programs
- PLC software experience preferred, Knowledge of pipe fitting, electrical wiring, and general mechanics
- Experience with pumps (diaphragm and centrifugal) drives: gearbox, belts, chain, hydraulic, couplings, motor-air, bearings, shafts, nuts, bolts, taps, and dies; Electrical: High voltage 460-volt 3 phase, motor controls, low voltage; Experience knowledge with process control transmitters and safety switches is preferred; Air compressor system- including filters regulators, dryers, and lubricators.
- Small welding projects - Mig Welding
- Configuration of mixer machines/equipment
- Maintenance of lift trucks
- Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and equipment manuals; Strong math aptitude; Self-motivated Individual
Preferred:
- Five (5) years of Industrial Maintenance experience
- Technical School diploma
- Company paid training to achieve proper certification/training available for qualified candidates based on experience/skill set
Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Operator
Shift: 2nd Shift – 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (Monday – Friday)
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Overview: Performs all material handling, shipping, and receiving functions within the facility. Performs basic data entry transactions within SAP.
Essential Job Duties:
- Pulls/Picks customer orders.
- Operate lift truck equipment.
- Unload incoming shipments, including bulk tanker trucks.
- Load outbound shipments and transfers.
- Generate shipping documents for transfers to 3PL and customer orders.
- Collaborates with other internal departments to achieve operational goals.
- Participates on plant teams and serves as a trainer for new hires or other employees.
- Assure products are properly labeled and all shipments are secured for shipment.
- Assure all paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to office.
- Work safely according to company health and safety procedures and policies.
- Willing to be trained to operate spotter truck, as necessary.
- Proficient in all areas of and the ability to inventory cycle counts.
- Maintain work area and warehouse according to the 5S standards established.
- Other duties as assigned by a lead, supervisor or other member of management.
Required Education & Experience:
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
- Ability to operate sit down and stand-up forklift.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift 50+.
- Good attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment. Shipping experience preferred.
- Strong math, detail, and organizational skills.
Drug Screen and background check are mandatory if you are offered this position.
Your work environment may be dusty and may cause some staining of shoes and clothing in some locations due to the nature of our products. Working in a manufacturing environment, you will be required to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 55 lbs. as needed throughout the duration of your shift. Personal Protective Equipment will be required, such as safety glasses, safety gloves, respirator or dust mask, and protective footwear and/or uniforms. Overtime may be available and required at times, due to production needs.
