COLOR CENTER ANALYST (Monterrey, MX-Onsite)
Our Color Center Analyst will be responsible for formulating customer-requested colors using Ink Formulation software, managing color databases, and verifying the proper functioning of measurement equipment. Additionally, this role will conduct audits to optimize color management processes, plan and monitor SCB projects, provide internal and external technical training, and coordinate the purchase, repair, and certification of Color Center equipment. The role will also ensure compliance with Sun Chemical’s policies and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, guaranteeing quality, best practices, and environmental care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create databases according to the assortment SOP guidelines.
- Formulate customer-requested colors using Ink Formulation software.
- Ensure colors meet customer-established parameters.
- Verify the proper functioning of Exact equipment following profiling instructions.
- Obtain profiling certificates to validate accurate results.
- Plan activities and timelines for SCB projects using Gantt charts.
- Conduct on-site audits to define the scope of Sun Color Box projects.
- Identify Pantones, structures, and processes to optimize the customer’s color palette.
- Provide internal and client consulting on color management and continuous improvement.
- Train technical specialists on the proper use of measurement and laboratory printing equipment.
- Implement and monitor SCB projects based on agreed objectives.
- Coordinate the purchase, repair, and certification of spectrodensitometers for the Color Center.
- Validate the performance of Color Center equipment through biannual inspections.
- Comply with Sun Chemical, SGC, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 procedures.
- Ensure quality, best practices, and environmental sustainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Graphic Design, or Graphic Arts.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in similar positions.
- Required industry experience: Graphic Arts, Inks, Packaging, Pigments.
- Basic English proficiency.
Skills:
- Technical knowledge: Color theory, basic knowledge of inks, printing systems, project management, and color matching.
- Proficiency in management tools, spectrophotometers, Exact Manager, and NetProfiler.
- Experience with formulation software such as IFS, Autura, and quality control tools like Color iControl and ColorCert.
- Experience using laboratory printing equipment like IGT, RK, Harper QD, as well as lab instruments like balances, timers, and cups.
- Strong visual acuity to detect subtle differences in shades, brightness, and saturation.
- Teamwork skills.

- Integrity and adherence to procedures and standards.
