Job Title: Reliability & Safety Coordinator
Location: Muskegon, MI
POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: This role will assist in the reliability, maintenance and safety functions of the site. The Reliability and Safety Coordinator will ensure the reliability and maintainability of existing, new and modified site systems, equipment, processes, utilities and infrastructure; update and maintain all information related to asset information, asset bill of materials, maintenance safety procedures, preventative maintenance programming and master maintenance planning in the Computerized Maintenance Management System. This individual will also assist the EHS Manager in regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local Government agencies such as MiOSHA, OSHA, EGLE, etc to achieve company environmental and safety objectives; maintaining and refining job safety and health analysis, lockout tagout procedures and other Safety and Environment related programs. The role will be responsible for updating, tracking and scheduling items such as ongoing safety training, maintenance activities with key vendors and contractors, forklift inspections and assets and scheduling PMs with maintenance as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Track and publishes maintenance metrics; interprets data and recommends actions based on findings. These metrics include bad actor analysis and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Update, track and schedule items such as ongoing maintenance activities with key vendors and contractors, tracks forklift assets and schedules PMs with maintenance as required.
- Works with production to perform analysis of assets including:
- Asset utilization
- Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Other parameters that define operating conditions, reliability and costs of assets
- Maintains the CMMS, including documentation and system integrity of equipment BOMs and PMs, purchasing info records for spare parts, and master data records for vendors.
- Oversees Maintenance and Production storage areas, ensuring that needed materials, parts, and supplies are stocked according to needs and appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
- Liaison for contracted MRO site service providers, overhead crane inspections, forklift asset management.
- Backup Purchasing Agent on purchase requisition creation, purchase order delivery, goods and service receipts, and invoice closure for projects with contracted MRO site service providers.
- Track site budgets, including maintenance, outside services, and production supplies accounts.
- Provides training to maintenance software and application end users, serves as liaison for problem solving and escalation, and educates staff on the CMMS functions and best practices for performing tasks.
- Conduct monthly emergency equipment inspections such as fire doors, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, first aid equipment and safety showers.
- Assists in regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local Governments such as MiOSHA, EGLE etc. to achieve company safety objectives.
- Assist various departments in tracking, maintaining and refining Job Safety & Health Analysis, Lockout Tagout Procedures, and other Safety and Environmental related programs including safety training.
- Provides input to the Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
- Generate and maintain EHS documents and records, including meeting agendas/minutes, training records, certification records, medical evaluations, SDS files, contractor training, permits, inspections, etc.
- Assist Engineering & EHS in site projects, P&ID and lockout tagout updates.
- Assists engineering with solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology, Industrial Maintenance or a related field or within Occupational Safety and Health or a safety-related function.
- Two or more years’ experience within Maintenance Reliability or Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing setting.
- MS Office experience with computer proficiency that includes input of data and development of reports and presentations.
- Effective time management and organization skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to make effective decisions, seek to find solutions to problems and make recommendations, work independently and investigate inquiries and respond in a timely manner.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with SAP or other ERP software programs
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Understanding of Predictive and Preventative Maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of MiOSHA/OSHA General Industry regulations
