Self-Funded Health & Welfare Strategy

  • Financial Governance: Drive the financial performance and design of self-insured medical, dental, and prescription drug plans.
  • Actuarial Modeling: Partner with consultants and actuaries to analyze monthly claims data, evaluate stop-loss coverage limits, and establish annual premium tier modeling.
  • Vendor & TPA Management: Hold Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and brokers accountable to strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Retirement Plan Oversight

  • 401(k) Administration: Oversee the administration, governance, and compliance of the company’s defined contribution / 401(k) plan.
  • Fiduciary Responsibility: Support the Retirement Committee, partner with investment advisors, monitor fund performance, and coordinate annual plan audits.

Systems, Systems Integration & Analytics

  • Tech Stack Optimization: Act as the business owner for the integration between SAP SuccessFactors (core HRIS) and Businessolver (benefits administration platform) to ensure automated, error-free data flows.
  • Data Auditing: Oversee routine file feed audits (834 files), payroll deduction mapping, and system configurations for life events and open enrollment.

Compliance, Leave & Risk Mitigation

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure total regulatory alignment across ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and federal/state retirement laws.
  • Mandatory Filings: Direct the timely preparation and execution of Form 5500 filings, non-discrimination testing, and ACA 1094-C/1095-C reporting.
  • Absence Management: Oversee enterprise FMLA, short-term/long-term disability, and evolving state-paid family leave programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Self-Funded & Retirement Expertise: Proven mastery of self-insured health plans alongside deep operational knowledge of defined contribution/401(k) plan mechanics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with SAP SuccessFactors and Businessolver (or highly comparable enterprise-grade benefits enrollment software).
  • Scale Capability: Background navigating large corporate structures ($1B+ in revenue) with an understanding of how US plans align with a global matrix.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Credentials: CEBS, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR is highly preferred.
