Production Planner - Peekskill, NY
The Production Planner is responsible for providing daily ongoing planning, scheduling and procurement for the entire Manufacturing Operation at the Peekskill NY Site. In addition to planning and scheduling, the Production Planner is also responsible for procuring all raw materials needed to execute the production plan in an efficient and cost-effective manner. As part of the Operations group, this role requires that the individual work in concert with production, supply chain, maintenance, plant & process engineering, quality assurance and laboratory personnel, as well as logistics personnel to achieve all site goals. The position manages the day-to-day aspects of the production scheduling process for a variety of production lines, including maintaining inventory control and accuracy over all materials pertaining to the production schedule to ensure on time delivery and inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret master production schedule in SAP and develop plant schedule for all finishing reactors, finishing dryers, bismuth products, glass products and blenders in the production area. This requires creating schedules in the SAP planning board, updating & managing the In process Database for all reactor commitments and scheduling, and updating & managing the Production Tracking System (PTS) for all production closures.
- Manage inventories for all packaged raw materials and production supplies used in the production process; this includes the ordering and physical receipt of all chemicals in SAP and accounting for all chemical usages in the process to ensure proper physical inventories.
- Manage and oversee tank and tote inventories in the production area by reviewing physical inventories versus SAP reported quantities.
- Coordinate and initiate all finished product re-pour requests from the Supply Planning Group; follow up and ensure all process orders are completed timely and accurately, and inventory is updated correctly.
- Complete monthly cost analysis and discrepancy reporting of all Production Order Variances for product campaign closures in SAP.
- Daily and monthly production reporting and schedule attainment calculation for the Peekskill production operation.
- Packaging & Hot Box Management; daily scheduling and coordination for packing totes and loading & unloading hot boxes for EC and remediation needs.
- Manage inventory and supply of all base materials from the North Charleston factory.
- Manage and coordinate weekly manufacturing floor cycle counts with production team including reconciliation and material movements.
- Coordinate and execute all month end closings with production to meet schedule attainment / P2P objectives.
- Communicates and coordinates all production priorities with plant personnel including production, warehouse & quality to secure customer orders.
- Provide training as needed to create qualified back up personnel that will be able to perform all the functions as necessary as a Production Planner.
- Manage all SAP Master Data.
Education & Experience:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Strong communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills
- SAP Experience, or equivalent MRP system
- Experience in a production environment
Salary Range for this position is $80K - $100K
