POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Warehouse Manager role is responsible for establishing departmental goals and objectives in the Peekskill warehouse that are in alignment with site and business goals. This role is responsible for acting as the primary interface for shipping, receiving and inventory management operations within the site as well as external interactions with Sun Corporate functions and related 3rd parties. Responsible for setting and prioritizing approved job function execution and reporting. This position is also responsible for coordination with all related service platform functions. Must be able to resolve customer-facing issues and ensure compliance with all national and international regulations for the transportation of goods by air (IATA), ocean (IMO), and public highway (DOT). Continuous improvement of processes to maximize productivity and reduce costs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Values EHS principles demonstrating personal accountability resulting in a ‘Zero-Incident Mindset’. Responsible for progressively and continually improving safety performance and housekeeping standards at the site through active leadership, instilling personal accountability for behaviors, incident follow-up including thorough investigation and root cause analyses, and implementing proper preventative measures to prevent recurrences. Participate in activities to promote and improve site process safety as required.
- Set goals for staff, consistent with business and department needs, and hold them accountable for delivering results. Provide coaching and direction to ensure that they successfully meet individual objectives. Track Team Performance for success (KPIs / Metrics).
- Manage personnel items including performance reviews, compensation programs, discipline, conflict resolution, consistent enforcement of rules and policies, change management, on-boarding of new employees, and engage in effective and clear communication.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and coach personnel and teams in a professional leadership role including the ability to support and affect change.
- Provide managerial oversight of the daily overall warehouse operating activities of order management, shipping, receiving, distribution, and tolling.
- Manage and coordinate all inventory control activities and functions across the site.
- Interface with other local, business, and corporate functions to plan, coordinate and execute agreed upon strategic plans.
- Ensure key metrics related to on-time shipping, customer satisfaction and inventory accuracy are met.
- Provide troubleshooting support for operations personnel as needed and work as required to provide technical and other functional support.
- Respond to and address customer and supplier complaints, including internal nonconforming action requests.
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives across work processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Strong communication, collaborative, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills
- SAP Experience, or equivalent MRP system
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
