THE ROLE
The QEHS Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, environmental and quality programs at Porto’s site. The job holder must ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate standards, promote a culture of safety, and contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsabilities
- Assist in the implementation of EHS and Quality policies and procedures in accordance with Portuguese legislation and company standards.
- Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Monitor and report safety and environmental metrics (waste, emissions, water usage).
- Conduct safety inspections and audits; follow up on findings.
- Participate in training sessions and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure safe working conditions and environmental compliance.
- Maintain documentation and records for EHS compliance and reporting.
- Liaise with external bodies (e.g., environmental agencies, safety inspectors) as needed.
- Support in Quality targets for the site.
- Various administrative tasks such as coordination with external companies’ software platforms, EHS related orders.
THE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Master’s degree in occupational risk Prevention.
- 1–3 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in industrial or chemical environments.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken). Spanish is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Portuguese EHS regulations
- Experience in ISO 14001 and 9001 management systems.
