Job Summary
Support and contribute to the growth of merchant inks, digital inks and specialties business by technical service request (lab work, demonstration material, sales tools and related activities etc.) based on customer and market requirements
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1.Lab work:
1)Conduct benchmarking tests against competitor’s products to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our own products.
2)Perform technical evaluations for new product development, new shade formulation, and related initiatives.
3)Ensure the delivery of reliable test results, high-quality test reports and standardized documentation (in English).
4)Operate lab equipment safely and strictly in accordance with the established procedures and SOPs.
5)Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organized lab environment by implementing 5S management practices.
6)Monitor the regular maintenance and calibration schedules of lab equipment.
7)Track and monitor the inventory levels of lab resources and testing materials to guarantee supply availability.
8)Utilize the global lab job database, ensure timely feedback on lab job results.
2.Technical Service:
1)Provide professional technical support to enhance customer satisfaction and assist the commercial team in generating more business opportunities.
2)Address technical inquiries via web, phone, email channels & deliver on-site technical solutions at customer facilities.
3)Conduct trouble shooting and resolution of product quality-related issues.
4)Deliver technical training sessions for distributors and customers as needed.
5)Prepare promotional materials in support of new product launches.
6)Assist in the compilation, summary and regular update of product brochures.
7)Assist in the booth-related duties for trade show preparation, incl: booth setup coordination, technical materials arrangement, etc.
3.Lab EHS
1)Oversee the proper classification, storage, handling and disposal of the lab hazardous waste.
2)Strictly adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and EHS policy at all time.
3)Wear proper PPE as required during all laboratory activities.
4)Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives for lab operations, with focus on optimizing workflow and reducing potential safety risks.
4.Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in chemistry, application chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related subjects
5+ years of lab working experience, prefer to have technical background in pigments, packaging inks or digital inks industry
State of art know-how of ink formulations, and applications.
Effective communication with customers to build up positive customer relationships and ensure the smooth resolution of issues.
Familiar with chemical lab operations, test workflow, record keeping & data management, sample tracking, chemicals handling, lab safety and more.
Fluent written and spoken English
MS Office 365, Labjob software
Teamwork spirit, responsible attitude, can work under pressure
