PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago

Reports To: General Manager – Sun Chemical Caribbean

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sun Chemical Caribbean is seeking a supervisory-level Project Manager with strong leadership potential, a team-oriented mindset, and the ambition to grow into a managerial role. This position requires expertise in project planning, execution, and stakeholder management, ensuring successful delivery aligned with company objectives. The ideal candidate will lead projects from concept to commercialization, guide teams, and manage external contractors, while fostering collaboration and strategic thinking to drive efficiency and results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage projects from ideation to market launch, ensuring seamless execution.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage external contractors, ensuring deliverables align with project requirements and company standards.
• Identify risks, troubleshoot challenges, and implement proactive solutions, partnering with internal technical resources when necessary.
• Prepare necessary RLW (Request of Lab Work) to support project needs and execution.
• Ensure technological lab reviews are received and set trial dates for customer testing.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align goals, share knowledge, and drive efficiency.
• Ensure project deliverables align with industry standards and customer needs.
• Apply critical thinking to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
• Monitor market trends and integrate insights into project development strategies.
• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, including executive leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3+ years of project management experience in an industrial environment.
• Project Management Certification required (e.g., PMP, ScrumMaster).
• Supervisory-level experience with strong leadership potential.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and improve processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is required.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
