Overview: The major function of the Site Lead is to manage the Winnipeg CSC operations personnel to meet the overall MFG and Canadian SBU objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Accountability for Inventory Coordination.
- Ordering of materials from the mother-plants for local distribution and/or blending.
- Use of SAP MRP tools to match supply with demand.
- Work with sales on customer forecasts and seasonal changes in demand.
- Work with technical on: RM substitutions, ink system changes and movement of dormant materials.
- Maintain all environmental, health and safety training and compliance for both SunCare compliance as well as Provincial and Federal regulatory and labour compliance.
- Ensure site housekeeping is kept up to appropriate standards.
- Scheduling of production and shipments to achieve customer production demands.
- Plant expense control of personnel and supplies (overtime, manufacturing expenses, capital project expenses, utilities, etc…)
- Management of contractors and vendors to support Maintenance & Repairs and Capital projects. (source contractors, track performance and manage expenses).
- Freight coordination and expense control – work with staff and if required 3PL (Uberfreight) to coordinate expedites, LTL, FTL and dedicated Trucks to meet customer demands. Communication must route via NACS.
- Champion quality improvement to achieve improvements related to production quality (right first time). Customer support and complaint resolution (OTIF monitoring, technical resource allotment, root cause problem analysis, 5 Why, Kepner Tregoe analysis)
- Identify business improvement opportunities and look for solutions to improve plant efficiency, quality or service.
- Support organizational and employee development. Use of site communication, employee empowerment, recognition and appreciation and employee development programs to improve Mfg team cohesion.
- Involvement in plant annual operating plan development (AOP aka annual budget).
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Experienced in the essential job functions listed above
